The trip to Busan started bright and early on a Saturday morning; it was a two and a half hour train ride by Korail. While the weather was overcast during my weekend getaway, Busan was still a sight to behold.
By the shoreline, the bellowing wind swept seawater into the air, sprinkling pedestrians with a light sheen of refreshing seawater. Though it was raining and cloudy, the ocean breeze kept my heart light and full of joy and it was a treat to smell the fresh ocean air.
Since Busan is known for their beaches, I thought they would have amazing seafood dishes. I was not disappointed. The restaurant I ate at had a spicy seafood stew which contained many different types of shellfish and octopus.
The Haeundae beach was beautiful especially standing at the shore and watching the waves roll in and out.
One of the destinations that I visited was the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple.
It was breathtakingly beautiful; there was a bridge that overlooked a water feature where visitors could make a wish and with good aim or good luck they would throw a coin and hopefully it would land in one of the bowls located in the water feature.
My coin did not make it into any of the bowls, but I consider myself fortunate and lucky to have had the opportunity to experience Busan.
The world awaits…discover it.
