Busan, South Korea: A Great Study Abroad Location

Due to the increasing popularity of our programs in Seoul, ISA is excited to now also offer our students the option to study in South Korea’s second largest city, Busan! Located on the southeastern coast of the Korean Peninsula, Busan is a large beach city that is popular with tourists from throughout Asia. When comparing Seoul to Busan in an American context, it is a bit like comparing New York to Los Angeles. While still a major metropolitan area like Seoul, Busan is a bit smaller, a bit more relaxed, and not quite as fast-paced as Seoul’s capital. Studying in Busan is a great option for students who want to experience Korean culture while exploring the rest of the country outside of the capital.

The course offerings in Busan make this program a great fit for students who are studying Business, Global Studies, or East Asian studies. ISA Busan students have the opportunity to learn about Asia as a whole with included overnight excursions to Seoul and Gyeongju and an optional excursion to Tokyo! Busan’s coastal location makes it easy for students to travel to southern Japan independently over weekends and holidays. Busan is also our most affordable ISA program option in South Korea, and includes a meal plan for all students.
One of our ISA Student Bloggers, Minting Xu, recently visited Busan for an excursion on her ISA Seoul program.

Read about Minting’s time in Busan and learn more about this great city!
