Royal De Luxe, a street theatre company, an equal of the Theatre du Soleil, put up an interesting show in Geneva the weekend of September 29th through October 1st, 2017. Two giant puppets paraded through the town; a grandmother and granddaughter. They had different itineraries all three days, and did cute little things, like eat ice cream, or wave at the crowds.
Join me on their walk around the Old City area in Geneva.
I ran into them at Rond Point-de-Rive after trying to follow the crowds. Here, the grandmother giant rests with her little helpers.About a million people attended this festival. I was lucky to have a friend who let me sit on his shoulders so that I could see past the crowds! As if the giants weren’t entertainment enough, they were followed by a band on wheels. Here comes the little doll, the Granddaughter character. She waved at me!The Granddaughter was followed by the Grandmother. She looks so loving! The real heroes behind the scenes! After walking around, the dolls rest before they board a ship at Lac Leman and head home!
