Picture a beautiful beach town filled with white sand beaches and crystal blue water, endless delicious restaurants, whimsical artwork, locally owned shops and boutiques, and friendly barefoot locals. Once you’ve done that, do yourself a favour and buy a plane ticket to Byron Bay, because this beach town is one that you DON’T want to miss.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably never heard of Byron Bay, which is one of the many reasons that this tropical destination is so special. Byron provides all the things that you love about a coastal destination without all of the crowds and traffic. It’s the perfect place to kick back and relax! Here are a few of the things that I loved the most about Byron during my time there with ISA.
Byron Bay Lighthouse
Byron Bay is home to the most eastern point in all of the Australian Mainland. The Bay’s Lighthouse sits atop a hill that gives you the perfect bird’s eye view of Byron’s beaches. You can even take a trail all the way down to the water.

Endless Outdoor Activities
There’s so much room for activities! Okay but seriously, there are SO many adventures to be had right in the heart of Byron. You can catch some waves with the incredibly rad surf instructors at Mojo Surf, sea kayak while hanging out with dolphins, turtles, and whales, and even go skydiving if you really want to get your adrenaline pumping.

Food Food Food!
The only bad thing about the food in Byron Bay is that you’ll have far too many mouth-watering options to choose from. The streets are lined with cafés, restaurants, bars, and dessert shops, each with their own unique atmosphere and menu. Not only is the food amazing, but also many of Byron’s restaurants offer healthy, organic, and fresh options. You really can’t go wrong. Check out my favourite spot, Byron Fresh Café, for its artistic atmosphere and the best sweet potato fries in town!

Artistic Atmosphere
Byron is filled with beautiful murals, street artists, and musicians to enjoy. The town is bursting with creativity and artistic vibes. You can often grab dinner or spend a day at the beach while listening to a local musician perform nearby. As you walk down the street make sure to stop and check out the artists creating masterpieces right on the sidewalk.

To sum it all up, Byron Bay is the ideal destination for foodies, art lovers, beach bums, and outdoor enthusiasts. So grab some shades and get beachin’!
