I recently had the amazing opportunity to travel to Morocco with ISA. We spent five days traveling through the local markets markets, small side streets, and the expansive Sahara Desert. From carpet shopping in Fes and watching local musicians perform to sleeping in tents in the desert, I feel like I really experienced the heart of Morocco.
Each sunrise in the Sahara was truly incredible. As the sun rose over the sand dunes in the distance, the whole desert was covered in various hues of pinks, blues, yellows, and oranges.
Moroccan carpets are used for more than just simple floor covering. Hand made by local Berber women, each carpet is a magnificent work of art that tells a unique story of each family.
During our time in the desert we had the amazing opportunity to meet and spend time with some of the local kids. They really enjoyed showing us how they like to have fun in their backyard.
Thanks to ISA, we had the opportunity to join a camel caravan! We spent the afternoon riding on camels and exploring the vast sand dunes of the Sahara.
After our long camel ride, we spent the rest of the afternoon cooling off in a local pool. The water was freezing, but it was a nice break from the scorching sun.
Sand boarding down the sand dunes was by far my favorite part of my trip to Morocco. This is definitely an activity that should be on your bucket list if it isn’t already!
The sunsets were just as incredible as the sunrises and marked the perfect ending to a truly life changing experience.
