Well for those who don’t know they play this song in the movie Armageddon and for those who haven’t seen that movie before…you are miss out and I would watch it ASAP if I were you. It is all about how they send some oil drillers up to an asteroid that is heading towards Earth in hopes of stopping it in time. Leading up to my departure for Peru all I could think about was the lyric “I’m leaving on a jet plane and I don’t know when I’ll be back again…” I would hum, sing and I even rowed to the beat of this song. Yes row, like in the water just singing away to myself going at a pace that I set while singing that lyric over and over again, both out loud and to myself. Needless to say I was pumped to be leaving for Lima and not worried about ending up in a shack herding sheep or homeless. Luckily for you all I will be blogging all about my crazy adventures for the next four months, but first I need to write down any and all crazy adventures I wish to get into.

I’m making a list and checking twice…just to find out what I really wanna do in Peru. Well as cheesy as that was I am making a list of items to add to my where to go and what to do in Peru list. Something I strongly suggest to any traveler you should just throw together a list and trust me put down any and all ideas no matter how far fetched they might seem. Because you never know whom you might meet along the way that has that special connection you need to accomplish a goal. Here is just a preview of things I want to accomplish during my stay:
- Attend a fútbol game (Soccer game)
- Cross a river like Indian Jones –COMPLETED!
- Swim in a waterfall –COMPLETED!
- Visit Lake Titicaca (Largest lake at the highest elevation)
- Visit Ecuador
- Visit the equator…in Ecuador
- Eat Cuy (Guinea pig) –COMPLETED!
- Attend a bull fight (pricey)
- Visit the rainforest
- Visit Machu Picchu (Old Inca Village) –COMPLETED!
- Sand boarding (like snowboarding but in the sand)
- Swim in the Amazon River
While those are only a few of my goals and dreams while I am here in Peru, and as you can tell I have already accomplished a few of them. Just remember go out there, be open to what ever and try everything! Because WHY NOT?
