Go Italia!

Last night a group of the ISA students met up at The Old Stove Bar to watch the Italy vs. Germany game.  I’m a soccer fan myself, but if I’m being honest I think I enjoyed watching the people more than watching the game!

With every goal scored, cheers and shouts echoed through the cobblestone streets.  It was almost as if time had stopped, and all that mattered was the game and the company of good friends.

As we reached the 90 minute mark, the crowds went absolutely wild.  Fans sprayed champagne onto the dancing crowds.  Strangers jumped up and embraced.  Couples shared a new-years-like kiss.  Old men danced holding their canes in one hand and Guinness birra in the other.

All I know is that Sunday night’s game against Spain is going to be quite another site and I cannot wait!
