I recently took the most amazing trip to Morocco, and I want to share the must-do activities on the road trip from Marrakesh to the Sahara Desert. Here are all the things that made this trip unforgettable, from amazing canyons to desert sunsets.

Marrakesh Market (click here!)

Our first stop in Morocco was the famous Marrakesh market. The bustling market was full of beautiful clothing, amazing sunset views, and even snake tamers. This was a blast, and there were so many shops to buy from and places to eat at!

Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou

One of the most amazing places we stopped on the way to the Sahara was the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This is the home of many amazing movies, such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey. Once a working village with no power or running water, it is now a tourist viewpoint with many shops and beautiful architecture.

Tinghir Oasis/Todra Gorges

On the way to the Sahara, my group and I stopped in the amazing canyons of the Tinghir Oasis and Todra Gorges. They connect to one another. The landscape is so beautiful, and you may even catch an array of sheep if you keep an eye out!

Erg Chebbi

Finally in the Sahara, my group and I got to ride camels within the large sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi. This was my favorite part of the entire trip and an absolute must-do in the Sahara. Watching the most amazing sunset in the Saharan dunes was a highlight of the trip.

Berber Desert Camp

This was our campground! It was so amazing to have a night and morning in the Sahara in these beautiful tents in the middle of the dunes.

ATV Rides through the Sahara

Another highlight of the trip, and unfortunately the last activity of our trip, was a sunrise ATV ride through the Sahara. This was an amazing way to end the best trip ever.

Without a doubt, one of my favorite trips ever was to Morocco. Every moment seemed surreal, from the bustle of the marketplaces to the silence of the desert. Go on the trek from Marrakech to the Sahara if you ever have the chance!
