The Best Weekend Trips From Italy that Will Fill You with Wanderlust

Europe has so many beautiful destinations it can be hard choosing which ones should be on the top of your list to see. Before I even landed in Florence, I had already started planning my weekend trips. Soon enough, I realized I had more places on my list than there were weekends in the semester. Now I’m realizing, it’s not the number of places that I visit, but the quality of my trips. Some weekends were effortless, and some definitely require more planning. But a few of my favorite destinations so far that wowed me are Cinque Terre, Paris, and Amsterdam.

Cinque Terre means the “Five Lands”. It’s made up of five small towns, each with many hiking routes and blue waters. Pictured above is Manarola, a town that makes you think you’re looking at tiny doll houses towered up on the hill.

A hidden gem in Vernazza, Cinque Terre. This spot can be easily overlooked because it’s camouflaged on the walk to the well-known beach in town. This small beach can be entered through a cave that opens into a serene location to relax and swim in the calm water.

Paris was always one of those places I felt like I just “had to see”. Although, I always looked at it as being overrated. But after visiting, I understand why it is the most visited city in Europe. From the authentic food to the amazing views from the top of the Eiffel tower, the city of love will stun you with its charm.

The Palace of Versailles, MTV welcome to what I wish was my crib. I walked through the palace for two hours to only see a glimpse of living what a royal was like. It is filled with so much art and history that makes it a must see location when traveling to Paris.

The A’DAM lookout in Amsterdam gives you a 360 panoramic view of the city. The rooftop restaurant/ bar has an optional swing that sends you over the edge and is the highest swing in Europe. Whether you’re looking at the city from the top of the swing or at the bottom by the canals, Amsterdam is a place like no other.
