ISA now has even more study abroad programs for students to choose from! Starting in 2019, ISA students will have the option to take classes at six new universities around the world, in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Read on to learn more about ISA’s newest programs and host cities.
Oriel College – University of Oxford (Oxford, England)
- Summer: Economics and Philosophy
Take summer classes at one of the most prestigious universities in the world: the University of Oxford in England. This exciting new opportunity allows ISA students to take economics and philosophy classes at Oriel College, part of the University of Oxford. During their summer at Oxford, students will be able to explore the spaces and architecture that inspired the scenery from the Harry Potter films and live in Oxford, a bustling college town that’s just 60 miles northwest from London. Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (Berlin, Germany)
- J-Term: International Business & Brewing Industry Brand Management
- Summer: Business & the European Union
Have you ever wanted to learn more about the booming German brewing industry or take international business, management, and economic courses at a prestigious German business school? Now’s your chance! ISA is partnering with Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (HWR) to offer summer and J-Term courses taught in English by local and visiting faculty. In addition to taking once-in-a-lifetime classes at HWR, ISA students will have the opportunity to explore and live in Berlin, one of the most multi-cultural cities in all of Europe. This dynamic German city is bursting with culture and history, and students can explore historic sights such as the graffitied remains of the Berlin Wall and the iconic Brandenburg Gate; not to mention Berlin’s central location in Europe and first-class public transportation make it easy to explore its neighboring countries like Poland and the Czech Republic.
J.F. Oberlin University (Tokyo, Japan)
- Semester: International Studies, Japanese Language & Culture
- Summer: Business, Japanese Language & Culture
Study abroad in Tokyo, or “the Eastern Capital,” and experience what it’s like to live in the largest metropolitan area in the world. ISA’s new university partner, J.F. Oberlin University is offering students the chance to master the Japanese language by completing an intensive Japanese language track and learn more about the Japanese culture by taking a variety of Asian Studies course in English. Can’t decide between these two unique programs? Do a little of both! Spend a summer in Tokyo and take business and culture courses in English and Japanese while you discover the best Tokyo has to offer. This incredible city is a perfect blend of modern and ancient architecture, with thousand year old temples around every corner and the most modern of skyscrapers. Zip around on the efficient “bullet trains” and explore the diverse island nation of Japan.
Universidad EAFIT (Medellín, Colombia)
- Semester: International Business, Spanish Language & Courses with Locals
- Summer: International Business
Spend a semester in one of ISA’s newest host cities: Medellín, the second-largest city in Colombia. Located in Colombia’s mountainous Antioquia province, just south of the border of Panama, Medellín is known as the “City of Eternal Spring” due to its year-round temperate weather and has gained acclaim as one of Latin America’s top art, fashion, and music scenes. The Universidad EAFIT is Medellín’s most prestigious private university, specializing in business. The semester program boasts a wide variety of business courses instructed in English in addition to cultural electives, Spanish language classes, and courses with locals. Students seeking a short-term business program can enroll in EAFIT’s 2-week International Business summer program.
Dublin City University (Dublin, Ireland)
- Semester: Business, Education, Liberal Arts & STEM
With the addition of Dublin City University, students can now study at almost every major university in Dublin with ISA. Spend a semester in one of the world’s favorite travel and study abroad destinations and experience the famous Irish culture at its best. Tour the Guinness factory, check out a music festival, and visit historic castles and monuments. There’s something for everyone in Ireland, and now students can take a wide range of education, liberal arts, and STEM classes at a globally ranked and highly affordable Dublin university.
Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (Milan, Italy)
- Semester: Design, Fashion & Digital Arts
- Summer: Design, Fashion & Digital Arts
If you’re a design student looking to study at one of the most influential design cities in the world, look no further than NABA in Milan. The Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, or “NABA,” is the largest private art academy in Italy, giving students the opportunity to take specialized courses in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Product Design, and Interior Design. Located in Northern Italy, near the border of Switzerland, Milan is one of the top international centers for fashion, finance, and commerce. Unlike other Italian cities, Milan appears to be much more modern but still maintains its traditional roots. Design students will be inspired by cultural delights such as Leonardo da Vinci’s the Last Supper, the stunning architecture of the Milan Cathedral, and the high-end shopping at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuel II.
BONUS: RMIT University Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City)

While not a program new to 2019, Ho Chi Minh City is one of ISA’s newest host cities. Commonly known as Saigon, this city is most famous for the role it played in the Vietnam War. As the economic heart of Vietnam and the largest and most populous city in the nation, Ho Chi Minh is a city that rarely sleeps and provides plenty of opportunities for ISA students. The RMIT University in Vietnam is an Australian university that offers over a hundred courses taught in English in subjects ranging from Fashion to Technology. ISA’s program in Vietnam allows students the chance to take a wide range of courses in an exotic study abroad destination in southeast Asia.
