Budapest

Catch some sleep on an overnight train in Prague, and by the time you wake up you’ll be in Budapest, Hungary. Budapest is rich in history and has endless sites you will want to visit. I recommend taking advantage of the free walking tours that are offered daily- in my opinion, there is no better way to see the city and learn about its history. Fishermen’s Bastion, the Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge, the Hungarian Parliament Building, the Dohány Street Synagogue, and the Széchenyi Baths are all places I suggest visiting while you are in Budapest.

Berlin

Situated just few hours from Prague by bus, Berlin, Germany is a surprisingly accessible place for a weekend trip. Berlin has a very modern feel since much of it had to be rebuilt after WWII, and the city is filled with a lot of important history. Highlights of Berlin include the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, the former Berlin Wall, the Holocaust Memorial, Brandenburg Gate and the Museum Island.

Barcelona

During your time studying abroad in Prague, I highly recommend hopping on a plane and heading over to Barcelona, Spain for a weekend.  Barcelona is a beautiful, lively city that sits on the coast of Spain. Sites to see in Barcelona include La Sagrada Família, the Picasso Museum, Las Ramblas street, Camp Nou football (soccer) stadium, Barrio Gòtico (the Gothic Corner), Park Güell, and of course, the beach! I also recommend exploring Mercat de la Boqueria around lunch time- it is an amazing market where you can indulge in fresh fruits, meats and seafood.

Copenhagen

Board your flight, put some headphones in, close your eyes for an hour, and before you know it you will find yourself in Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen is a cute city filled with amazing people, and is a perfect weekend getaway from Prague. Copenhagen can be a little pricey, but there are plenty of free things to do such as explore Nyhavn, Freetown Christiania, and Amalienborg Palace. There are also many world-class museums to tour. If you enjoy amusement parks, I highly recommend visiting Tivoli Gardens. Tivoli is one of the oldest amusement parks in Europe, and is said to have influenced Walt Disney to create Disneyland.
