Looking for a volunteer opportunity during your semester abroad? Are you interested in immersing yourself in the Italian culture and contributing to the local community?

ISA Florence is now offering students the unique opportunity to volunteer as Assistant English Teachers in local Elementary schools!

Picture yourself:

·         Working with local teachers in the classroom.

·         Improving the English language skills of young Italians by exposing them to a native speaker.

·         Giving back to a local Elementary school.

Q: What does a typical day look like?

Past participants have helped create lesson plans, lead activities, and review homework. You may find yourself singing songs, coloring, exploring complex sentences in English, or leading class discussions on history and culture.

Q: How are you immersed in the Italian culture?

Once a week, you have the opportunity to travel outside of the city center and experienced a different way of life that does not revolve around commerce or tourism. Volunteers foster relationships with Florentines, practice their Italian, and gain first hand insights on the Italian education system.

Q: What are the requirements?

·         To attend English class once a week and work closely with the teacher.

This opportunity is open to all Florence semester students, and no Italian language experience in necessary!
