Wandering Rome

A perfect day in Rome does not require a detailed itinerary or a long list of must-sees. It can be as simple as just wandering around the city with no aim, taking time to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings.

I started the morning at the Colosseum. I took a minute to sit and stare at this amazing monument, trying to comprehend its vast history.

I made my way up Via del Corso, leaving the Colosseum and the Forum behind me. I grabbed a slice of pizza from a restaurant nearby and ate while I walked.

From Via del Corso, I turned down a street I picked at random and found myself at the Pantheon. What I love most about Rome is that you can turn a corner and suddenly be standing in front of a piece of history.

Piazza Navona was on my mind, so I decided to make my way there. When it started to rain, I took cover in a gelato shop. Instead of ordering gelato like I always do, I opted for a cioccolata calda. Once the rain lifted, I took my hot chocolate and picked a street at random again.

I ended up picking one of the most picturesque streets in Rome, Via dei Coronari. It’s lined with quaint restaurants, small boutiques, and ivy covered buildings. I took my time on this street as I sipped on my hot chocolate.

Planning the perfect day in Rome does not need to be complicated; sometimes it doesn’t need any planning at all.

The world awaits…discover it.
