Here are some questions to get your mind in gear to begin the process of choosing your ideal program location!
- Are you looking for a university located in the middle of a big, cosmopolitan city?
- Do you want to ensure that you have the comfort of home wherever you may go?
- Do you want a city that is constantly offering various events and activities?
When it comes to studying abroad, many students aspire to live in a big city that offers an extensive variety of activities, sights and people. However, there are even more perks of living in a big city: lots of public transportation, familiar food chains, extensive shopping options and internationally recognized universities! Here are a few big cities that include all of these benefits:
Bangkok, Thailand:
Bangkok is a bustling and beautiful metropolitan city. If you want a study abroad experience filled with adventure, Bangkok should be on the top of your list. The city is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southeast Asia, so you are guaranteed encounters with individuals from all walks of life. Whether you decide to spend your time exploring the historical temples, following the aromas of Bangkok’s renowned street food or riding in an infamous tuk tuk (look it up!) down the bustling roads, you’re in for a real blast.
Cape Town, South Africa:
Cape Town is as a perfect blend of nature and cosmopolitan living. Its strong historical roots have shaped this city into quite the melting pot. The rich history has created a hub of infinite options for food, drink and entertainment, all surrounded by historic architecture and picturesque natural landmarks.
Sydney, Australia:
Sydney is the largest city in Australia and full of diverse experiences. Here, you will be able to walk the streets hearing Australian accents as well as a variety of different languages. You can visit famous monuments such as the Sydney Opera House, stroll along beaches, indulge in fine dining restaurants on the seafront and spend some time shopping. No matter what your interests are, as long as you want to pursue them in a vibrant and lively city, Sydney is for you!
