Though the weather may not be as warm as the tropics, spring in Prague and the Czech Republic is wonderful. As the temperature begins to rise, many popular attractions open and you are faced with the question, “What do I do on this beautiful days?” Here are some ideas on how to make the most of the magnificent weather and your remaining time in Prague.

At the beginning of April the city seems to come alive, the royal gardens open up, and you can rent boats from a quaint little island on the Vltava River. If you are looking for a magnificent view of Prague, Letna Park is a great place for an evening stroll and with a small hike, you will be able to see for miles from the top of Petrin Hill. Whatever you can do to be outside, you will find something to do.

The Prague Zoo is not only known as the top zoo in continental Europe, but it is also ranked #4 in the world. A great place to go on a sunny weekend, you can enjoy a wide variety of animals such as cheetahs, polar bears, and the zoo’s newest addition, a brand new baby elephant (the first to be born in the Prague Zoo). And if you are not in the mood to walk, you can enjoy a ride up and over the exhibits on the sky lift.

If you are looking for a chance to escape the city, even just for a few hours, you always have the option of making a day trip. A quick trip to the spa town of Karlovy Vary or a short exploration of Cesky Krumlov are just a few options found within the Czech Republic.

And everyone’s favorite, the food. Thanks to the internet, the trend of putting ice cream in a traditional trdelnik has taken over every stand in Prague. Not that it is a bad thing, but now your options are endless. Choices range from simply Nutella and ice cream to strawberries and whip cream, or an apple concoction smothered in vanilla. You really can’t go wrong.

With spring comes plenty of showers, but even after the storm there is something magnificent to look at.

The view from my window is beautiful as it is, but there is something special about it after a storm.
