Take a Walk and Get Lost in Barcelona

The first couple of weeks in a new country can be extremely overwhelming and frightening. We have no idea where we are going, some of us do not know the language of the country, and the feelings of homesickness can quickly surface. The best way to combat all these feelings is to take it all in, breath, and embrace all the great memories that are soon to come.

Take a walk in your city, get lost. Walking around the city can help get a grasp on street names, monuments, and restaurants. Becoming more aware of your surroundings can bring a surprising amount of relief. Here are some of great places I have visited while being in Barcelona.

This study abroad experience can be the most beautiful chaotic adventure that a young student can ever take. The worst thing we can do as young adults is let our fears stop us from experiencing life changing moments. So please, take a deep breath, and go for a walk.

The world awaits…discover it.
