A great way to immerse oneself in the culture of London is to visit one of the many, many markets this city has to offer. I’ve been here for five weeks and every weekend I’ve visited a different market. Each market holds stalls with foods from all around the world, and all you have to do is look at my camera roll on my phone to know that I love food and I love trying new food! Here are some of my favorite markets and meals so far!
Borough Market
This is probably one of the most well known markets in London and the food did not disappoint. Free samples were handed to us left and right. When we finally settled down to eat our homemade pasta, we spotted rows and rows of mouthwatering pastries.

Old Spitalfields Market
This market seemed to have the largest array of foods to choose from. Ethiopian, Turkish, Spanish, Italian – you name it, you could find it here. My chicken tikka wrap’s naan bread was handmade right in front of me. How much fresher can you get?!

Covent Garden Market
Although there are no food stalls here, the restaurants in the market are probably just as cheap and definitely just as good. We found Franco Manca’s pizza place after reading reviews that it had some of the best pizza in London. Let’s just say, I ate an entire pizza by myself. Yes, it was that good.

Kingston Market
Since this market is about a two-minute walk from one of my classes at Kingston University, I always seem to end up here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. And what’s lunch without an amazing crepe to finish it all off?

Camden Market
This market is situated in a very eclectic part of town where you can find clothes, antiques, artwork, and of course food. This market’s food has probably been my favorite so far. I had some of the best Indian food of my life here and my friend said her mac ‘n’ cheese was to die for. Before you leave, don’t forget to check out Chin Chin Labs Ice Cream right around the corner!
