4 Places to Visit While in Cairns, Australia

1. The Great Barrier Reef.

There are a lot of snorkeling and diving tours that you have to take advantage of! We snorkeled at two different locations, a open water excursion and at Bird Island.

2. Rainforestation Nature Park, Kuranda Wildlife Park.

They have it all! You can visit the zoo and see all of Australia’s indigenous species, then take a tour of the rain forest on an Army Duck or a “truck boat,” and then watch an Aboriginal dance and throw boomerangs.

3. Horseback riding at Mount-N-Ride Adventures in the Freshwater Creek State Forest Park on Lamb Range.

It was an amazing experience to explore the beautiful mountains on horseback and then ride the horses through a river!

4. Gilligans Hostel in downtown Cairns.

Gilly’s is a great place to meet new people and it doubles as the biggest nightclub in Cairns!
