Harry Potter, The Trevi Fountain, and Friends: My Favorite Memories of England

Jessica Tierney is a student at the University of California, Riverside and an ISA Featured Blogger. Jessica is currently studying abroad with ISA in Reading, England.

I’m going to miss the walks to town, taking the train into London, and the way it felt like we had all the time in the world. I’m going to miss jumping on planes to go to exotic countries, the delicious taste when I tried new food, and all the random people I met. So here I am, left with thousands of memories (and pictures) of my time in England.  The best way to tell you about what I’ll miss is to show you. Here are just a few (because there are so many) of my favorite pictures, and memories, of my time in England.

That one time I went on a tour of the studios Harry Potter used. I got to see all the sets that are in the movie! It will not only be a favorite memory of studying abroad, but just in my life! Yes, I’m a Harry Potter Nerd and proud!

This is a picture of one of my friends and I at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, Italy. My friend is studying in Rome and let me come out and stay with her for five days. I saw absolutely everything in Rome with her by my side. It was such a surreal experience.
This is one of the first pictures we ever took together as a group (and there are a couple of people missing), but man...do I miss them. The people I met really made my experience so much better than had I been alone the whole time. But, don't worry, I still have a group text going with them :)

I could easily write paragraphs upon paragraphs about what I’ll miss. Studying abroad is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. How can you compare meeting a random group of people and becoming best friends with them over three months time? I really don’t think you can, but I think the three pictures I put above really capture some of the best times I had, but man, I have so many more pictures I could show you!

If I had to give a piece of advice it would be to enjoy every single second. Be in the moment and don’t get caught up in not having enough time (or having too much). Explore London as much as you can (along with any city you see) and make sure to get fish and chips at a pub!
