La Universidad de Valencia (Castellano), Universitat De València (Catalan), University of Valencia (English)
My school goes by many names, and all the signs are in Catalan, but it’s my stomping ground 20 hours a week! Monday through Thursday I have classes throughout the day. I’m taking Advanced Spanish Grammar and a Spanish Literature class which focuses on romanticism, realism, modernism and postmodernism.
Here is the website for the institutional information about the university, beware it’s in catalan! http://www.uv.es/~webuv/informacio/presentacio.htm
The university was founded in 1499! Also, when it was first starting out, studies only focused on medicine, the humanities, theology, and law. Now, there’s too many programs to count. Through some intercambios (ISA students meeting Valencian students who want to help us speak Spanish, and to have us help them with their English) I’ve met two girls who are studying English and want to be English teachers, and one guy who is studying geography and taking courses to become a flight attendant.
