Wow! It’s hard to believe that four months ago I arrived, nervous and excited, for my study abroad adventure. In so many ways it feels like yesterday. I guess it really is true what they say, “Time flies when you’re having fun.”
Looking back on my time abroad is difficult to explain. Even though I consider myself a pretty decent writer, I don’t think I can ever truly express in words the amazing experience I’ve had abroad. I wish I could perfectly string the words together so that each and every one of you could feel the rush of adrenaline every time I took off in an airplane or hear the waves thrashing through the Mediterranean sea. Unfortunately, I don’t think anything I could write to you all would accurately capture my experience. What I can tell you, however, is that I have had the time of my life! I have met incredible people, seen unbelievable places, and have fallen in love. No, not with a boy! With Sevilla. With each passing day here, as the temperature increased so did my love for Sevilla.
Remember the story I told you of the NODO sign back in February? Remember that NODO is Sevilla’s symbol that means “no me he dejado” (Sevilla never left me). Every time I traveled to other countries the thought of Sevilla never left me. And I can promise you all that for as long as I live, I will never, ever forget Sevilla and will always be able to say, “Sevilla no me he dejado.”
Studying abroad, seeing the world… it’s all a possibility if you work hard to make it one. Reach for the starts and never stop! You never know what you can achieve…the possibilities are endless. :)
With love from Sevilla!
