ISA is now offering a supplemental $500 scholarship to all students accepted to programs in China or South Korea who have received a Freeman-ASIA Scholarship from the Institute of International Education.

Freeman-ASIA (Freeman Awards for Study in Asia) is designed to support American undergraduates with demonstrated financial need who are planning to study overseas in East or Southeast Asia. The program’s goal is to increase the number of Americans with first-hand exposure to and understanding of Asia and its peoples and cultures.
A Freeman-ASIA Award provides need-based funding to assist the recipient with the cost of the study abroad program and related expenses, including airfare, basic living costs, local transportation, books, etc.
- Semester/Quarter Award: up to $5,000
- Academic Year Award: up to $7,000
About the ISA Freeman-ASIA Supplemental Scholarship
Students who are interested in applying for the Freeman-ASIA Scholarship should consult the Institute for International Education’s website for more information on eligibility and how to apply. All accepted ISA students who are awarded the Freeman-ASIA Scholarship will have the opportunity to apply for the supplemental $500 ISA Scholarship to help pay for the cost of their study abroad program.
