Opéra National de Paris

The opera was fun. It was ballet and it was really cool. The experience was really great. No, ballet isn’t the greatest thing in the world to me (it was my first ballet) and I’m not an opera person, but this was nice. If you like incredible choreography and vibrant music, this is the place for you.

There are two operas in Paris, with one at the Bastille called the Opéra Bastille anf the other at Place de l’Opéra which is the Palais Garnier. We went to the former and it is grand. When you think of a grand ballroom with gilded arches, shimmering chandeliers and the like, this opera is that. It’s the epitome of grandeur. It was cool to see all the girls from the program get goosed up and pretty for this outing.

The ballet production was called Amoevo/Répliques/Genus by Millepied/Paul/McGregor respectively. For more info, visit the ballet’s website to learn more.

Like I said before, I’m not an opera buff, but this was pretty incredible. If you ever get a chance to check out the opera in Paris, GO. It’s an incredible experience and you might like something. Go, if not for the show, than for the architecture and the beauty of the opera house.
