During my time here in Barcelona, I hope to meet some awesome people and create incredible videos for you all to enjoy.

I am a senior at UMBC, studying Spanish and Music, Classical Guitar Performance. I feel most happy connecting with people in meaningful ways. Learning Spanish has helped me to build confidence when communicating with others and deepen my sense of empathy for other cultures. Traveling to Spain has been my dream throughout college. To have the opportunity to study here and be immersed in a culture that has enchanted me since I first visited is a true blessing. I have a passion for creating positive, real content on my blog (kayecariola.com) and my YouTube channel (Kaye Cariola).

I love to travel, specifically, I love going back to my home country. I’ve been back to the Philippines a couple times, but I don’t remember much about it because I had few physical evidences to look back on. That’s why when I visited again in summer of 2017, I decided I’ll film every small moment, edit all the clips, and upload them so my family both in the Philippines and in the United States can remember what we did together. I plan to do the same during my time abroad and capture my adventures in Costa Rica.

University of Alabama
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
Hi! I am a communication studies major, concentrating in public relations, and a journalism minor. My hobbies include: running, The Office (just finished it for the 5th time, definitely going to restart it soon), exploring new cities, meeting new people, music, being outside, food (making it a goal not to gain 500 pounds from all the pizza/pasta/gelato in Italy though), photography/videography, and dancing. I come from a small town in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina and attend college in a fast-paced, quickly-growing city. The thought of leaving my home state for a month without knowing a single soul kind of terrifies me, but I love being challenged so I’m taking a leap of faith and here I am! I’ll be studying abroad for four weeks in Italy, watch my video blogs to see what I’m up to!
