I love Auburn but am so eager to be studying abroad in Florence this spring and looking forward to adding an international experience to my studies. My name is Maya Kollme, and I am studying abroad this semester in Prague, Czech Republic with ISA! I am originally from Davidson, North Carolina, and am a current student at James Madison University studying psychology and journalism. I love to paint, take photos, spend time with friends and family, and, most of all, explore new places outdoors. I’ve traveled all my life through various family trips and trips with other programs, but this is my first time ever traveling solo. I’ve always been fascinated by other cultures and their effect on human relationships and tried to reflect that in my writing. Although I am going into the semester knowing no one, I am so excited to embrace all of the lessons, happiness, newness, and struggles that will come from this experience.

Currently, I’m studying abroad in Spain at the University of Sevilla! I’m here to engage with my passions for languages, traveling, and of course, creating all kinds of artwork. When I’m not building my portfolio, I can typically be found practicing with my cheerleading team, reading fiction, and listening to indie music.
