After travelling for 12 hours and arriving in London with very little sleep under my belt, the anxiety I was feeling finally calmed down when I landed at Heathrow Airport. That all changed when I got in the wrong line and had to line jump to get my visa stamp to enter the country. Finally everything was coming together- or so I thought. After what felt like sprinting through the airport, I found my group and took a huge sigh of relief.
Being a tourist is pretty key when traveling, regardless if you have been there before or not. Immediately after leaving the airport, my new ISA friends and I hopped onto the tube to start our ‘Welcome to London’ tour. We drove down so many different streets that before I knew it, we were outside Buckingham Palace and finished up our tour at the London Eye.
My flat mates and I went on the Jack the Ripper tour next, which took us around to the spots where his victims were found. It was spooky to learn that the bar where the last victim was seen is still up and running. I can’t wait to learn more by touring around and slowly but surely figuring my way around Harrow and central London!
