Sevilla and the Royal Palace

Daniella Owusu is a student at Worcester State University and an ISA Photo Blogger. She is currently studying abroad with ISA in Granada, Spain.

A weekend get away to Sevilla was well needed after a stressful week of school. In the beautiful city of Sevilla, I was able to visit the Alcazar or Royal Palace developed by Moorish Muslim kings. After the Alhambra, this palace is the most beautiful site in all of Spain. Throughout the entire walking tour, my mind was lost in the clouds. I kept asking myself, “how is this humanely possible!!!?” I was taken away by the beautiful medieval Islamic palace which demonstrated the unique fusion of Spanish Christian and Moorish architecture. I also kept questioning how it was all constructed? Walking within the hallways and gardens of the palace, I was brought back in time.

The entrance was just a glimpse of what I would love. Every room I entered I compared to the love I had for the Alhambra of Granada. I am not sure which palace I like better.
